About Screen Printing

Screen printing is probably what you think of when you think about t-shirt printing.  It is the better known common method for custom t-shirt printing.  It's the traditional printing method in which each color in a design is separated out and burned to individual fine-mesh screens. Ink is then transferred to the fabric through the screen with a squeegee down onto the shirt.  This printing process is popular for customizing not only t-shirts but hoodies & jackets and other pieces of apparel as well.  It produces a high quality long lasting print and is great for bulk/group orders; specific color matching and can offer a larger variety of products.

Why choose screen printing?

If you’re looking to print apparel for a group, screen printing is the most economical way to order these types of garments in bulk.  Screen printing is the perfect print method for large orders, unique product choices and for projects requiring vibrant or specialty inks.  Screen printing has fewer limitations as to what products and materials it can be used to print on.  Teams, organizations, and businesses usually choose screen printing because it's extremely cost-effective (very economical) for printing large custom apparel orders. However, the labor intensive setup can make it expensive for smaller print runs.  In our experience, screen printing is the best option for the larger orders you may have with simple images that use a limited number of print colors.

Digital Printing – DTG (Direct To Garment)

For Small Runs, Full Color Photos, Quicker Turnaround

Digital printing involves printing a digital image directly onto the shirt or apparel product. It is a newer technology that functions similar to your home inkjet printer. Special CMYK [Cyan-Blue/Magenta-Red/Yellow/Key -Black] inks are mixed to create the colors in your design. Because of this, there are no limitations to the number of colors in your design. This makes digital printing a great option for printing photographs and other intricate artwork.  The cost per print is higher than the traditional screen printing process. However, by avoiding the higher setup costs of screen printing, digital printing can be more cost effective for your smaller orders (even if only for a single shirt).
